Abstract: This case study is a qualitative research that examines the link between gender differences and educational achievement in a particular state primary school in Malta. To understand this link, the present researcher looked at traditional gender stereotypes, labelling, classroom practices and the way in which different academic subjects are linked to different genders. The main methods of data collection used for this research study were interviewing and participant observation. The first chapter of the dissertation introduces the research topic, while the following chapter takes a look at what different theorists have said in relation to gender differences and education. Chapter three of the dissertation discuses the aims and the methodology of this case study. The last two chapters are the most important chapters of the dissertation: chapter four is the data analysis chapter where the data is presented and evaluated and chapter five is the conclusion, where the present researcher discusses the findings.
