dc.description.abstract | Human trafficking is considered to be one of the worst crimes against humanity. Every country should take preventive measures to protect their people from this threat and its development. The purpose of this study is to shed a focused light on the true nature of human trafficking, particularly, explaining the purpose of sexual exploitation vis-a-vis Russian women. The dissertation will concentrate on trafficking of Russian women and will research the below questions: What are the major causes of human trafficking in Russia? Why do different institutions find it difficult to stop these human traffickers? Why does this phenomenon still exist? What can be done to prevent human trafficking? And what are different NGOs and international organizations doing to combat human trafficking? The dissertation shall be structured as follows: Chapter I will introduce the subject to the reader and presents the research hypothesis. Chapter II defines human trafficking as described by various institutions. The dissertation will deal with the factors of demand and how the trafficking networks are organized. Importance will be given to responses set by United Nations and the European Union. The analysis will be done based on the data attained from difforent institutions like OSCE, the IOM and different NGOs. Chapter III explains the methodology used during the study. Chapter IV is data analysis focused on Russian (as a destination to and from) human trafficking routes. Chapter V will conclude by answering the research questions and provide further recommendations on how to combat human trafficking in Russia. | en_GB |
