Abstract: This study explores clients' experiences and views, on the effectiveness of the counselling service offered by The Cana Movement. It includes an analysis of the factors influencing effectiveness, both theoretically and as identified by clients, placed in the context of counselling at Cana. The quantitative data in this study looks at several aspects of the service including whether the number of counselling sessions was enough and helpful; which statements were rated by 141 clients, some of whom included additional comments. Furthermore, 10 qualitative client reports suggest that the main determinant of effectiveness is the counsellor's professionalism; referring to one's academic qualifications and humane approach.
