| Abstract: | This set replaces the Air Malta Inauguration Issue which has been withdrawn at the close of business, on the 2nd October, 1978. The Malta Postal Administration issued this new Airmail Set, which consists of six stamps featuring three designs. The 5c and 17c values depict an aircraft flying over a megalithic temple, the 7c and 20c values show an Air Malta Boeing 720B in flight and the 11c and 75c values reproduce a Jumbo Jet taking-off from the recently inaugurated 3,s44 metres runway at Luqa Airport.
