Abstract: Virtual lives are a new phenomenon of the digital age and Second Life is one of those most popular MMORPG's (massively multiplayer online role-playing games). In these games one can enjoy anonymity at all times by representing oneself as a character known as avatar. However people in Second Life called Residents do not play the game but live in it. Residents can perform common activities such as dining out or go for a walk, buy a house or sell goods, and the most interesting thing about it is that Second Life has its own currency known as Linden dollars L$ which can actually be exchanged for real US dollars. Like any other community, crime in Second Life persists and it takes some changes in policy and legislation to be in a better position to control behaviour.
