| Abstract: | This thesis looks at the aims, syllabus content and other relative information of subjects relating to political education. This will be accompanied (in the appendix) by a description of the content of subjects which deal with political education (derived from interviews with purposely selected officials from the educational department). The first chapter presents a critique on political education as it is featured in the National Minimum Curriculum. A critical analysis of different pedagogies and teaching methodologies will be presented to support this critique. The second chapter will present recommendations on how political education can be more effectively incorporated within the curriculum. |
