Abstract: In the year 1901 on the occasion of the visit to Malta of Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York - now their Majesties King George V and Queen Mary, the Malta Society of Arts, Manufacture and Commerce, organized an Exhibition under the patronage of H.E. General, Sir Francis W. Grenfell G.C.B., G.C.M.G. One of the divisions of this Exhibition was reserved for local philately, in which many collectors exhibited their collections and specialities. There were especially two collections which were greatly admired. [excerpt]
