dc.description.abstract'The perceived beauty of a potential partner has traditionally been explained in terms of physical characteristics ... while non-physical characteristics have been neglected' (Swami, Greven, Furnham; 2006). The aim of this study is to find out what body type people aged 18-40 perceive as the ideal figure, while also taking into consideration personal attributes. This study will be carried out on 200 university participants using questionnaires and images of different body types. By using comparative study, the questionnaires will vary so that half of the participants answer questions of one type, whilst the other half answer a different set of questions. These will later be compared in the results. The results will then show the importance of looking at personal attributes instead of just body image.en_GB
