Abstract: This work offers a different perspective to the prayer of the ‘Our Father’ and evolves the significance of such a unique prayer delivered to us by Christ himself. This work focuses on the magisterium of the Catholic Church, the interpretation of such prayer by Pope Benedict XVI and by Pope Francis together with interviews to lay people by Don Marco Pozza who through their experiences in life give out their significance of what the prayer of the ‘Our Father’ means to them. In his conclusion, he denotes that the prayer of the ‘Our Father’ is still very much relevant to us today. The meaning of who the Father is still the same as when it was recited to the disciples. No matter what, believers and atheists relate to the ‘Our Father’ as per there experience in life, thus making the prayer a universal one for all, be they religious, lay, atheists or believers.
