Abstract: | Applications may receive several updates over their lifespan. Manually updating these applications can be a tedious job, and may require large updates to be carried out. This Final Year Project details a system created so as to automatically distribute software updates. When considering embedded and battery operated systems one should prioritise the amount of network activity generated, and hence the system will emphasise on keeping the update data to as small a size as possible, hence reducing the bandwidth used. This is done both through optimising the differential algorithm as well as compression. |
