Abstract: | ▪ Eccentrically braced frames are believed to be a structural system efficient for
seismic applications. They are characterised by both excellent stiffness and good
ductility. ▪ In eccentrically braced frames the dissipative zones are located in link elements. The use of removable connections between the links and beams/columns makes possible replacement of links damaged as a result of an earthquake, reducing the repair costs. |
