Abstract: ▪ The recent advent of performance based design has brought the nonlinear static pushover analysis to the forefront as one of the most simplified procedure for evaluation of structural capacity. The capacity of the structure is represent through shear base force-top displacement curve. Capacity Spectrum Method (Freeman 1998) is a reliable tool for determination of target displacements. This procedure is incorporate in the Eurocode 8 and enables calculation of behaviour factor and peak seismic response of the structure.
▪ During the passed couple of years the method is under active development. The main goal is to extend the method with inclusion a variety of relevant factors that may influence the structural behavior. [excerpt from Description]
