Abstract: ▪ Robustness is concerned with the control of failure of a system disproportionate to the initiating exceptional event. It is important to distinguish fire as an exceptional event from others, e.g. impact, explosion, see below. It is also important to understand the additional requirement on robustness under fire to the usual requirement of preventing progressive structural collapse under fire. [excerpt from Description]
