| Abstract: | This dissertation gives an overview of the village of Zurrieq from the beginning of the British period until the present day. I found that it is difficult to give a completely detailed account of the history of the town since this period spans over two hundred years and the word limit did not allow me to further explore other aspects of the village. With the aid of my tutor Professor Dominic Fenech, I was able to focus on five main characteristics which cover most of the main features of the village in this period. These characteristics are: Population, Occupations, Education, Politics and Local Councils and Parochial Characteristics. |
