Abstract: | One of the most ambitious objectives of Altofest is to raise a horizontal community, where art is the medium and the common language among citizens and artists. The idea of community embodied within the festival relies on the notion of communitas as defined by Esposito (1998), where its members are not only bound by a reciprocal commitment “of giving from one to the other”, but they also “give up […] one’s individual identity, in a process of gradual opening from self to the other” (2013: 84) |
