Abstract: Culture is a unique characteristic of every society. It is passed on from generation to generation, and with the passage of time culture would sustain changes. Certain cultural norms and values may be commonly practiced and shared between actors in society. Technological progress has left a great impact on society so that young people may view themselves as living in a homogenized society. In this highly impressionable age, youth need adult direction to be able to cope with these sudden changes in their employment and every day lifestyle including their leisure which could be an important aspect of change in their lives. The question of irregular immigration may also be regarded as a factor of cultural change. Whilst irregular immigration may increase the problem of high population density and it is often viewed as an economic burden and a threat to job availability likewise, it can also be appreciated for providing the national fabric with a variety of cultures, adding colour to our rich Maltese identity. Whenever there is change the stability may be shaken and in order to face such challenges society must learn new ways in accepting others so that harmony will be the stabilizing agent of society acquired through the tools of education and knowledge.
