Abstract: | The aim of this article is to present an innovative radar for monitoring the space wastes in order to mitigate the growing numbers of debris and the related risk for astronauts and human space activities in general. The proposed architecture is a bistatic radar named BIRALES (BIstatic Radar for LEo Surveys) one of the sensors of the European Space Surveillance and Tracking (EUSST) network. In this paper, an innovative concept for space debris monitoring and detection in LEO (Low Earth Orbit) is presented and some important results are shown. |
