Abstract: In this Dissertation we aim to answer the question – “What are the effects of Far-Right parties on Malta’s integration in the European Union?” To answer this question, a definition to the concept of ‘Far-Right’ parties was provided through a combination of research papers and books, such as Vieten and Poynting’s ‘Contemporary Far-Right Racist Populism in Europe’ and Matthew P.Fitzpatrick’s ‘‘Liberal Imperialism in Germany: Expansionism and Nationalism 1848 – 1884’.’ After the literature review and the definition of ‘Far-Right’ parties, the Maltese ‘Far-Right’ parties that fit the description namely - Imperium Europa, Moviment Patrijotti Maltin, Alleanza Bidla and the Partit Popolari. The research is mostly qualitative data using both primary and secondary sources such as party propaganda, books, research papers, videos and party proposals which provide insight into the effect that such parties have on Maltese integration in the EU. All the information gathered for this Dissertation highlights that Maltese and European politics with reference also being made to Maltese integration in the EU remains for the most part unaffected by the activities conducted by Maltese Far-Right parties, however, further detail is provided in the rest of this paper.
