Location based reminder iPhone application development

Abstract

The increased use of mobile phones has led to the incorporation of more sophisticated technology in them. Where before a mobile phone was simply a portable version of the telephone, now it is a device with lots of features like a camera, radio, Bluetooth and GPS. In this thesis we look at how we can implement a system that uses the GPS functionality to produce a location based reminder system. After the implementation we designed an evaluation to see how the usability of iPhones with the location based services combine. The results showed that the ease of use of the iPhone OS together with more advanced hardware, produced very good results.
