Abstract: This dissertation will address the issue of Ethics and warfare with regards to humanitarian intervention, with a main focus on the war in Kosovo in 1998-9. This latter event has left an important impact on the recent history not just of the Balkans, but also on the International Community as a whole. Indeed, the latter has had to deal with issues related to the legality, morality and efficacy of humanitarian intervention, not only in Kosovo, but in various other cases subsequently. This case study is explored in the wider context of the issue of intervention as a whole. The ethics of intervention are indeed very relevant in contemporary international politics.
