The use of image processing has increased along the years, since digital photography has become more popular by various types of users. Despite this increase, the average user might still find image processing tools to be rather expensive and hard to use. In this dissertation we are to explore a more convenient alternative by making image processing accessible over the web. We focus mainly on the development of an Image Processing framework. This framework is purposely designed to be extendable in functionality by the users, by means of adding their own image manipulation filters to the framework. We take advantage of the web by designing the framework to allow batch processing jobs, giving the user the ability to continue working whilst his/her images are being processed as well as many other features that aim at making the framework complete and with the least amount of Ii mitations. The development process for this framework was carried out by exploring the existing programs, defining the problem at hand, implementing the solution and producing test cases for the framework.en_GB
