Abstract: The focus of this research is on the reflector dish design for the Square Kilometre Array (SKA), using Offset Gregorian optics as the prototype for Phase 1 SKA antennas. The aim is to obtain an optimum design using specialized GRASP9 software. Simulations of designs are carried out over a range of frequencies between 0.3 and 3 GHz, by constructing a generalized script to suit the user's requirements over a range of several parameters. Subsequently, an appropriate feed is designed, specifically investigating the beam patterns of a log-periodic, dual-polarized feed, radiating a Gaussian beam.
