Abstract: This publication, which comprises a collection of articles written by alumni who have graduated with a Master's degree in bioethics from the University of Malta, covers the gamut of ethical concerns, ranging from anthropological issues, informed consent in shared decision-making, and the breaking of bad news to cancer patients; to artificial nutrition and hydration in end-of-life care, epigenetics, intersexuality, emergency contraceptives, and pharmacogenetics. Authors employ a range of methodological and theoretical approaches to investigate questions of policy, practice, and meaning in an increasingly biotechnological and medicalised world. This book, which is the first in a projected series that will provide a platform to showcase and publish the students' research findings, offers to the alumni of the Faculty of Theology the opportunity to demonstrate their research skills and their competency in specific contemporary bioethical issues.
