Abstract: The aim of this project was to observe and record the velocity profile being modified wall. of a fluid passing through a pipe due to the effect of suction at the after-pipe A test rig was designed and constructed such that a main flow and secondary suction flow were set up. Suction at the pipe wall was achieved by drawing fluid through small holes circumferentially drilled in a test section. Velocity distributions for different hole and slot configurations at various suction flow rates were plotted. The most significant modification in the velocity profile when suction was applied was found to be in the region adjacent to the pipe wall.
