Abstract: A software application deployed over mobile phones can offer life-saving advice to civilians in case of potential emergency situation. The proposed system exploits the portability and availability of today's advanced mobile devices to augment visuals depicting safety information to users who revert to their smart phone for assistance in case of an emergency as in the case of a potential flooding situation. Better informed persons can react accordingly and put their lives out of risk after that the original image of the dangerous area is enhanced with additional simple virtual graphics to portray how the life-threatening scenario can potentially develop in reality.
