In this FYP a system will be built that will enable Visualisation and Management of the Medium Voltage Power Grid. The system will also perform automated reconfiguration of the network by performing intelligent switching operations. The aim is to provide an easy to use tool for carrying out daily management and monitoring activities and avoid overloading in the network and restore supply, to as many areas as possible when faults occur. Real time readings and results will be displayed on a GUI and users can fully interact with the system. This tool will not connect directly to the power grid, therefore grid conditions, like current flow, and faults will have to be simulated. Additionally this tool can be used for decision support since the intended user can build various grid models and run several simulation scenarios to help him identify limitations in his models.en_GB
