Abstract: In this Final Year Project, we will study and implement the automation of a Sequential Legacy Control System. The Parallelization process will help us make our artefact running faster as more improved hardware will be introduced in the market. This study is based upon a large Sequential Legacy System which is found in a particular industry, that of a Grain Handling Terminal. We will use it as an example of how the parallelization and automation process will improve upon its existing features and characteristics. We will also De-Centralize this central nervous system and take good care not to de-stabilize the whole system during its operation times. The automation process is not an easy task to undertake. Care has to be taken in cases where, although issues can be automated, should still be left un-automated to give power to the user of the system to take critical decisions. We will also analyse the safety conditions present inside such a Legacy Control System and will need to include them as well in our Automated Concurrent New System. Automation and Concurrency can help us in this task so as to better monitor and be highly responsive to issues which may arise from time to time.
