Abstract: | The aim of this project is to perform Information Extraction on local newspaper articles related to financial news. The emphasis of the project is utilise statistical natural language processing techniques to reduce the amount of pre-required information such as predefined word lists and dictionaries. The project tackles the three main tasks of Information Extraction, named-entity recognition, coreference resolution and information extraction. |
