Abstract: "Recent developments in the mobile phone market have led to a significant increase in the number of users accessing the Mobile Internet[KCK06]". Delivering e-Learning material at a distance, at 'anytime' and 'anywhere' is one of the primary features that has made people aware of mobile learning. Mobile learning is electronic learning (e-Learning) while on the move. When accessing e-Learning web-courses to from mobile devices we need to consider various things; including dimensions, memory and connection type. This dissertation aims at creating a tool that allows us to access e-Learning context from a mobile device. The main goals are to be able to adapt given web-pages in order to be properly displayed and rendered from such small hand-held displays. The approach taken is based on automatic detection of the type of device being connected to our system with a set of capabilities that is retrieved from the HTTP request header. According to these characteristics, requested web-pages are transformed in a way to fit appropriately. The output is a way to have context around us wherever we go. We can learn, be trained and communicate while on the move.
