Abstract: The Project consists of the design of a hardware and software interface that links 16 digital multiplexers (i.e DMI "S) to a remote PC from where thy can be controlled, supervised and monitored. The 2/34 Mb/s Multiplexers (which form part of the Telemalta Corp. Digital Telephone Exchange) may also be controlled from other remote locations via an NTU. Basically the hardware link employs a Multiplexing System, while the fault alarm Supervisory System employs logic control and data manipulation to determine whether or not there is a fault alarm, and in which DMI it lies.
