| Abstract: | As time passes by our everyday life is becoming more and more dependent upon electrical energy. Consequently critical problems are met on the event of a mains failure. DC-AC inversion is the solution to such a problem. However such a process does not always result in a very efficient system due to various effects, such as conduction losses of switching devices. The main aim of this project is to design an efficient DC-AC inverter to act as a back up supply. High efficiency is expected to be achieved by using Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors as switching devices. |
