Abstract: Back in 1989 Tim Berners-Lee wrote a proposal to CERN regarding a system aimed to solve problems associated with the management of information. His vision is nowadays globally known as the World Wide Web (WWW or "Web" for short). The enormous advantages brought about this medium do not conceal the problems arising from the way the WWW vision has been implemented. The phenomenon of information overload and the loss of our associative memory abilities are two of these problems. In this dissertation we will make use of the user's Web surfing experience in order to develop a tool that aims to assist any Web surfer by augmenting his memory. This tool will supplement the existing browser's functionality with information management facilities. These facilities will automatically accompany users as they browse through pages by aiding them recall and learn new associations. The tool will also provide a number of interesting features like archiving and searching all aimed to potentially manage user information.
