An electrostatic generator

Abstract

Many industrial processes, nowadays, require very high voltage, low power, power sup plies. The electrostatic generator, with its high voltage outputs, is a suitable unit for such applications. This report is concerned with an electro static generator of the conducting carrier type. The first two chapters of the report review in brief the various electrostatic generators currently in use and their applications in industry and space systems. In chapter 3 some theoretical deductions about the conducting carrier machine are outlined. The rest of the report deals with the design, construction and testing of an electrostatic machine. A discussion about the performance of the machine is found in the final chapter.
