| Abstract: | This dissertation gives insights into a two week placement at SGS - THOMSON in September '97. Besides giving a brief introduction to what the 'Education Business Links' is all about the author introduces the reader to the history of SGS - THOMSON in Malta and the philosophy of the company world wide. The two central issues seen at depth in this dissertation are, how SGS - THOMSON manages its Human Resources and how TQM (Total Quality Management) and the Training Section functions within the same company. Finally the author studies the implications and applications of the SGS - THOMSON management techniques and philosophy to the management of a Vocational College on the island. |
