Abstract

The importance of transmission of digital data is increasing with the increasing applications of computerized systems. Communication is usually established between a transmission point and a receiving point or points, over a given channel. The most common channel used is the telephone line, since this is found already laid, though there are cases where cables are laid solely for computer communication.
