Abstract: After a long flight and a good sleep I was eager to visit Somers Primary School. So aided with clear directions I walked over to the school. From the school notice board I quickly learned that Somers PS is an accredited Sunsmart School and that a Book Day was soon to be held. There was also the name of the Principal and a contact number should queries arise. It was mid morning on a Friday. The weather was cool but sunny and bright and the school was clearly during break time. Two adventure playgrounds were teaming with students while younger students played in the shaded sand pit. Older students played sports in the vast grounds. All of these activities were being supervised and I soon got the impression of well-behaved and happy children. On Monday morning when I walked in the school, the Principal, Mr. Mark Killen, welcomed me with pleasure. We sat in his office and discussed a programme for the next two weeks. Afterwards he proudly took me round the school and I was soon introduced to the teachers in their respective classrooms, to the teaching assistants and to the school secretary. My visit at Somers Primary School had begun!
