Abstract: For the last two years there has been quite a big change in the infant classes. This happened because of the introduction of the computers. Our schools are very young in the technology development; yet we have improved greatly. Computers in classrooms will lead to a big change in the learning process and teaching methods. "Information Technology in the classroom is expected to bring about an evolution, if not an outright revolution, in teaching and learning." (Attard. 1997: 53). Computers are considered as a teaching and learning tool and as an administrative instrument. We are aware that we are living in an increasingly electronically sophisticated world, so there is the need for knowledge of and practice with the technology of computers so that school leavers will have achieved the skills needed for them to join such a world. "Information Technology Applications and Computer Awareness were introduced in secondary schools some years ago. Information Technology as a vehicle for teaching, learning and education is being introduced at all levels of primary education: it is planned that by 2002, all students will be having IT as an integral part of their learning process” (Zammit Ciantar 1996 : 36 -37). So students would be introduced to information technology applications that will be direct use to them in their future careers.
