The last decade has seen a proliferation of computers and communication devices in offices and homes. With the introduction of Personal Computers (PC) and the Internet, we have been supplied with unlimited information and productivity tools which help to make organisations and individuals more efficient and competitive. As today we are being exposed to volumes of information, the user has to filter large amounts of data in order to retrieve the required documents. This process is usually time-consuming and frustrating. The next-generation PCs will be more personalized thus the user will be provided with custom tailored assistance which will facilitate the user's experience and work. Information will be more accurate and less time consuming by eliminating irrelevant results. The proposed system will identify and adapt to the user's needs, enabling it to give the relevant information, thus helping the user to solve a particular task. As the user's characteristics can vary according to different situations, the main focus in the proposed solution is made on the user's work life.en_GB
