Abstract: Professor Amihai Mazar's book comes as a very timely contribution to Palestinian archaeology. It presents a solid synthesis of the archaeology of the land of the Bible from c.10,OOO B.C. up to the Babylonian invasion of Judah. Mazar's synthesis is very up-to-date. Although he finished the text in October 1987, he succeeded to keep updating it up to the beginning of 1989.
