Purpose: To assess the 6 month clinical outcome of patients that underwent percutaneous transluminal angioplasty for critical lower limb ischaemia. Methods and Materials: Retrospective study of 103 consecutive patients with critical limb ischaemia that were primarily treated by percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA). The indications for intervention were rest pain in 25 patients(24%), non-healing ulcers in 31(30%), and foot gangrene in 47(46%). 65(63%) of these patients presented with a predominant single arterial lesion, and the remaining 38(37%) with multilevel arterial lesions. The clinical outcome was determined by analyzing the clinical notes documented at surgical outpatient clinics.en_GB
