A survey of the natural and semi-natural freshwaters of Gozo

Abstract

In this project freshwaters were visited during the dry season in order to ensure that they were permanent flowing. Measurements were taken and the general flora and fauna noted. Maps and photographs of the areas were drawn up. The maps also included the surrounding land use. The report includes a site description, the geology, biota, surrounding land use and threats to the individual sites. The discussion outlines the need to adequately protect these areas both officially and practically.
