Abstract: Infra-red remote control these days seems a common place for domestic. audio and video equipment. The aim of the project is to use Infra-red remote control in stage lighting control. This system offers greater flexibilty as the multi-core which runs between the lighting board and the dimmer racks could be eliminated. The conventional 10 V output from the lighting board is changed into an infra-red signal. A circuit that enables HF control of fluorescent tubes is also incorporated, to increase the already high luminous efficacy of these lamps and to enable them to be dimmed gradually.
