Abstract: The first aim of the project was to produce a detailed research about the effects of exessive noise levels on the human operator exposed to such a situation in the place of work, the measurement of such noise levels and the comparison of these measurements to existing standards. The second aim of the project was to perform a magnitude and frequency analysis on specific excessive noise peak levels and thus propose ways in which such harmful noise levels might be reduced. Finally the project was aimed to prepare a way in which basic noise measurements could be done periodically, using adequate equipment, thus ensuring that the noise levels remained within the standards.
