Abstract: In this long assignment an introduction on electoral manifestos shall be given eliciting their purpose, their development and how they originated through the years. A brief overview on every election and analysis of every manifesto from the first election after independence in 1966, until the last election of 2008 shall be provided. In addition, the present author shall create bibliographic records of them with replete annotations. The chosen sources of information for this long essay are the two main political parties in Malta, some found in private collections and others in libraries around Malta. Conscious that this is not an easy task, the present author best shall consult to strive the majority, if not all, general election manifestos of the Maltese political parties. The 1966 cut-off date was chosen since this was the first election to be held in post independent Malta.
