Abstract: There is a continuous demand from industry for Data Acquisition systems to be used in Statistical Process Control. This project involves the design and implementation of a central computer based data-logging system. The architecture of the system allows the remote units to be installed at plant level near the sensing elements, while the main control station, consisting of an IBM compatible, mounted far away in a control room. There it receives all the signals from the plant and the data is thus processed as required.
