Abstract: The aim of this Project is to develop a Computer Programme as an aid in the assessment of a substation earth grid design, predicting, with a good degree of accuracy, the resistance to earth and surface potentials of the grid, prior to the actual construction and installation. This programme also includes the facility of providing a safe grid design to the user. As the determination of the soil resistivity value represents the main source of error in substation earth grid design, soil resistivity testing is investigated.
