Abstract: | The main focus of this study is to find out the reasons why the students in the indicated school are not using the library and examine the measures that ought to be taken in order to have a more efficient library frequented by most students. In order to reach my goal a number of students were surveyed. The results clearly show a negative attitude. The students of form two and form three (approximately half the population in these forms were taken for the study) illustrate the present outlook to our school library. My experience as a teacher in this school was also taken into consideration in order to give sound proposals about the much needed rejuvenation. Ex and actual school librarians were interviewed. Their response continues to show a negative trend. The students are not fully aware of library's importance. Most students do not use the library to their best advantage. This result prompted me to delve further. This long essay is therefore a means to further investigate what should be done to achieve better results. |
