Abstract: Filtering in signal processing consists of seperating different frequencies that form part of a composite signal. Digital filtering is the same process of spectrum shaping using as basic building blocks digital components. A digital filter may be realised in either hardware (direct realisation from logic circuits) or software form (using a computer or processor as a complete unit to perform the required process). The aim of this project was to use and, if necessary, upgrade the MC68000 Microprocessor Development System so as to assess its capabilities to perform real time digital filtering, a process that necessitates fast and powerful processing.
