Abstract: The aim of this project is to develop a control system by using state space analysis, for a conventional D.C. separately excited motor. The project allows two important features: 1) Speed Control (Clockwise and Anticlockwise) 2) Regenerative Braking. An H-Bridge 4 Quadrant D.C. to D.C convertor was used in which it is controlled by a 286 PC. Closed loop control is obtained by providing Speed and Current feedback. The instantaneous torque load (T 1) is estimated by these two feedback parameters. Closed Loop Control is monitored by a Pascal program and as an interface, the DAS20 Board supplied by Metrabyte, was used.
