Abstract: | My interest in the Blue Sisters saga stems from a number of personal circumstances. I had just started practising the legal profession in January 1980. The Blue Sisters case was the first politically sensitive case in which I was marginally involved. As an aspiring electoral candidate for the subsequent general elections, I was interested also in the political significance of the events which I have called a “saga”, for that is what they were – a nasty series of events which revealed abuse and arbitrariness at the highest echelons of Government. They also lay bare the pusillanimity of some members of the judiciary, and the courage, resilience and audacity of others. [excerpt from Foreword] |
